Here are some of the clothing that they cut tags out of
I went to this store because it was closing. I was able to find some things in my size as they had limited quantities. After paying for my purchases totaling slightly under $200, the manager said she had to take the tags off and proceeded to cut the price tags off. This was no big deal as I knew it was final sale and could not be returned. However, she proceeded to cut the clothing tags out that said Avenue and the girl that was helping her had already cut them out of some of the other clothing and shoes that I purchased. i was very upset as it looked horrible - like the items were purchased at a flea market. I told the manager I did not like this and I did not want the clothing like this. She told me that Avenue instructed them to do this. She gave me the customer service number which could not do anything as they were only for online purchases. I did not want to take the merchandise but the manager said she could not return them. She stated we tell everyone when the walk in that is what we are doing. I was not told this and I told her that. There was nothing they could do. When I got home I called avenue again and I was instructed to email customer service. Customer Service at first said there was nothing they could do until I stated that i would be canceling my card and posting reviews. At this time I received another email stating that they were looking in to this and would get back to me. I received a call from the district manager who again stated that this is what they do and there was nothing she could do about it. I told her that my clothing looked like clothing purchased at a flea market. She said she wanted to may me happy but the only thing she could do was to offer for me to come in and exchange the item for the same item if they had my size. This was not acceptable nor was it possible because due to limited supply, my size was not in large quantities. I also stated to the district manager that I could have just purchased from my local store with a coupon and paid the same thing and my clothes would have had the tags in them. She stated "that's just what we do when we close a store" She also stated that she had worked for another company (I believe it was New York & Co) and they did the same thing. To say the least, I cancelled my credit card and will no longer shop at Avenue due to this experience.
